I arrived at 1:50 a.m. following several transportation problems, the owner JEAN waited for me, and welcomed me like a princess before going to bed, offering me coffee and a madeleine in the morning.I left my belongings unattended during the day to go for a walk, no problem with that, there is a very trusting and calming atmosphere there.The people (owner, employees and even passing vagabonds) are very warm and welcoming, transport and amenities are not very far away, I got there by electric scooter from Marseille St Charles station.Jean gave me a hiking backpack for the day (to be returned at the end of the day of course 😂) and they also provide masks and snorkels for the beach, city maps and activity plans Marseille.A wonderful experience for me who was dreading coming across I don't know what.I highly recommend and I'm going back next weekend if they have room, which I hope
I had such an excellent stay here!! Gigi & Jean were so welcoming and friendly, they made me feel right at home and gave me excellent recommendations for activities nearby. Great location too with easy access to some incredible hikes and swims in the Calanques!! 10/10
The owners of this hostel are so nice and welcoming! I phoned on the day to see if they had any availability and to see if there would be anywhere to park my car. When I arrived they had reserved me a parking space directly in front of the hostel!There was a lovely atmosphere at the hostel, really enjoyed my night there👍
Probably the best hostel experience I've ever had. The couple who owns it are very friendly, and made many recommendations to all travelers. Beds were clean and the location felt incredibly safe. Highly recommend The Garden for dinner. Note that this hostel may notbe for everyone, as the rooms are mixed, the beds are mostly lofts. and there is only one (very clean) bathroom. But none of these were an issue for me, as the price ($25 a night) was more than fair for the experience. As a solo female traveler, I highly recommend!
The hosts hospitality at this place is just next level, I was actually shocked how nice it was. The hostel is located a bit away from the city center in a rather quiet neighborhood, but near the calanques and can easily be reached by metro and bus services from the train station/city center. I actually appreciated that after hearing about Marseille being a rather dangerous city. If you're looking for a simple and inexpensive stay when in Marseille, I would definitely recommend going there!
